In line with the annual capacity-building program implementation plan, the department of Foreign Languages and Professional Development (PDC) of Spinghar Institute of Higher Education (Nangarhar), in coordination with the institute’s Division of Research, Compilation, and Translation, conducted a one-day workshop titled “Research Proposal Writing.”

The workshop was delivered in the conference hall by Dr. Shafiqullah Athish, a specialist and the Vice Chancellor for Research, Compilation and Translation. The event was attended by faculty members from the institute’s three faculties, including Dr. Ghulam Nabi Kakar, a specialist and the Chief Medical Officer of Spinghar Momand 50-Bed Teaching Hospital (Spinghar Institute of Higher Education’s Teaching Hospital).

Dr. Shafiqullah Athish comprehensively covered various aspects of research proposal writing, including an introduction to research proposals, selection and characteristics of research titles, key research terminologies, research objectives and hypotheses, literature review, research methodology, variable tables, citations and other essential components related to research proposal writing. The topics were presented in both theoretical and practical manners to ensure a well-rounded understanding among the participants.

At the end of the seminar, Dr. Athish addressed the participants’ questions and urged them to apply the knowledge gained in practical research proposal writing and conducting meaningful academic research in the future. He assured the participants of the full support and cooperation of the Directorate of Research, Compilation and Translation in these academic endeavors.

It is worth mentioning that Spinghar Institute of Higher Education (Nangarhar) has previously conducted similar workshops, seminars and training programs for its faculty members, administrative staff, and even students to enhance their professional and academic capabilities.
